Silver Clouds, 1966
helium-filled metalized plastic film 91,4 x 129,5 cm.
April 2-27, 1966: Andy Warhol's second show at the Leo Castelli gallery included the Cow wallpaper and the floating silver pillows.
Andy said he wanted to end his painting career with those silver pillows, to let them fly away from the rooftop, but they didn't really fly away. It was a grand gesture; he was a master of the grand gesture. ~ Ronnie Cutrone.
